Thinking of buying a Kindle touch. I need some advice.

I am thinking of buying a Kindle touch for University. I will read books on it. I'm a casual reader who reads perhaps 1-2 Novels per month. I occasionally go on reading sprees during my holidays.

I also want something that can display PDFS. I never have to deal with double column PDF files. Most of the the PDF files that I need are less than 10 pages long. All of my homework gets posted online in the form of PDF files. I just find it such a waste to print out 5 files a week. This is an example of my homework.

Currently, I'm leaning towards the Touch (because of the 5.1 updates) but I'm open to alternative readers. The Kindle DX is too expensive for me and it's not available in Germany anyway.
