Best dark sky in Kentucky?

I've gotten a bit into observational astronomy lately and I'd like to find a good dark sky to work from with my binoculars. I live in Lexington, KY but know the central KY area(Nicolasville, Harrodsburg, Danville, Frankfort, etc.) well enough to find my way around. Anyone got any experience with stargazing in the area?

The best I can find that I know I can get access to is yellow on the dark sky map and is fairly rural up on a huge hill, but I have no idea where in the green or better areas I might be able to go. I'd like to find somewhere that's totally open to the public though where people won't mind me chilling out for potentially a few hours at a time, especially if I end up enjoying myself enough to get a scope.
