I see alot of negativity on Reddit to do with work, so whats your best memory from your job?

I work in a fairly large company, and to be honest have never exchanged more than a handshake with the director. One day he was walking around my new manager, when he stopped at my cubical and explained what my role within the company was.

I am a CAD operator/Tech Support, therefore dont really get involved with day to day goings on, so have always felt very useless in regards to the running of the company (were involved in construction).

I thought the introduction would just be "This is erm, sorry whats your name? Ah yes he deals with CAD Operation and IT, moving on".

However it started well when he introduced me by name and went on to describe at length to my new manager that I am highly skilled, hard worker and very reliable.

I've never smiled harder in my life. Nothing like the feeling of having your hard work recognized.

After the walk around had finished, my director approached me and apologized for appearing distant in the past, and that he does appriciate the work I do and meant every word he said.

TL;DR After feeling like a forgotten member of the company, my director personally thanked me for my work.

So what are your best work memories?
