How on Earth has everyone beaten the game with ???

I got WotL before beating the game with ???, which appears to have been a big mistake (I know there's no way to roll it back on steam)

I really want to unlock the D6, but I cannot for the life of me do it.

The new alt floors kill me and all the spider-based enemies seem to be impossible to dodge reliably.

Any tips?
