What if the US manufactured babies with powers like Jon's from the Watchmen - effective from birth? What effect would childhood etc have had on the supers, their 'handlers' and their military /political masters? And then what if one of them rejected the programming?

I know the X-Men is starting to touch on these issues, but I wanted my fair shot at it. This is what I, John (not the John) Draper have written so far. It has taken me two years cos I have a regular job. I really want to find an illustrator so that it can be turned one year into a graphic novel. The basic idea is in most of the plot points below, and there are a few sample chapters (not below), but it is no where near as complex as I want it – In due time I'm looking to put in in alternative aspects, like the press, people from different parts of the world etc., flashbacks to the childhood, the Chinese perspective etc. in the story like The Dark Knight returns crossed with the Watchmen.

Presence of 2 Chinese supers killed off before the story starts, but... Very high certainty (from precognition (nightmares) and from material remains, etc.) of potential invasion scenario provides justification for vat-based breeding of super-human experiments, Urgent need to locate anybody with potential esper powers and breed them or start from scratch, renewing and revitalizing the old black budget programs from the 1960's and 70's which were supposed to have been shut down (and some of which had been shut down, but names change). Powers can be boosted mechanically or by selective breeding (all using volunteers, vat growth only option because of suspected rejection)/attachment issues. Russians have own (advanced) mentalics, less advanced on bio-aspects but with working tech - have first working idea of how to potentially neutralize supers Use of anonymously donated sperm and no contact with biological parents (but see...) Jason returns (how?) with an alien army that seemingly has documentary lives of all major saints or religious figures from Buddha to Mohammed to Jesus Christ. HAARDNET defects. Chapter 1

A large laboratory setup with multiple fusion-based lasers and an opaque, one-meter diameter dark gray spherical containment unit in the center of the room, supported by a sturdy glass tripod. A dozen faces are peering at the globe through 1-meter thick glass, again opacified except for small viewing holes the size of a human hand.

A voice came from over the room speaker; a blonde-haired woman in skin-hugging gray overalls wearing a small silver earpiece, 'Dr. Thompson, this is Dr. Mason. Are you ready to provide first-line containment?' Her eyes are a piercing gray.

Sarah calling. Are we all online?

'Yes, I'm ready.” The man in the room, dressed similarly in overalls and wearing the same type of earpiece against shoulder-length jet black hair, places his hands slowly on the sphere, moving them slowly and feeling its curvature. 'Feels good.'
