Finally getting an Andriod, But which phone should i get?

Asked a few weeks back about getting the upgrade transfer for a smartphone, but now i can't pick or even begin to decide which phone i want. Any suggestions?

EDIT: I have Verizon. I'm not into the whole mechanics of the phone, just one that runs apps smoothly. I mainly use my phone for texts so something with a "sleek" text appearance. Nothing too bulky screen doesn't have to be too big. Also a good battery life as well.
