Day 41 Update: Yes, It Is Completely Worth It.
So I just checked my badge and it looks like I'm at day 41 of this challenge.
Going to a private Catholic high school a couple years back, the big discussion around Good Friday/holy week was what you were giving up for Lent. A couple guys would always joke about giving up PMO (Although we obviously didn't call it that at the time) which was known as the "40 Day Challenge". Most guys maybe made it a week tops. I never imagined that I could.
And here I am, at day 41. I first stumbled upon this subreddit in early May, lasted about nine days, relapsed for about a week, and pushed forward to where I am now.
I spent a lot of time lurking this subreddit, and I can not begin to express how instrumental it's been in my "journey". There were the flatline periods, but every single damn day is still a challenge. When it gets especially tough, I browse noFap for a little while just to stay focused.
There's the whole argument about whether or not the whole increased motivation/concentration side-effect (or result) of noFap is accurate, and I can tell you that is very much real, at least from my personal experience. In my freshman year of high school, my roommate had an exercise/pre-workout supplement called Jack3d which totally got you riled up and focused to lift, and I honestly feel like I'm on Jack3d at times. It's awesome. I've struggled with depression this past year, and it's an absolutely refreshing feeling to know that you can control your energy levels and happiness.
