I raqequit relationships/dating.

Everyone says that there is a person for everyone and the qualities that you think are unattractive about yourself are actually attractive to someone else, but I feel like my qualities are so mediocre that I hardly attract anyone. I'm not trying to dump on myself, it's just something that I've figured out for myself over the last few years. From my personal experience, people have such unrealistic expectations that I don't even stand a chance.

From the age I could first hold a NES controller until my second year in college, my absolute number one priority was gaming. It did not ever cross my mind that I could be in a relationship. I felt like that wasn't who I was (self-confidence issues didn't help either) until a year ago when I entered into one that lasted 8 months.

Fast forward to now and I find that I still feel exactly the same way only with the addition of knowing that being with someone can be amazing.

I'm wishing that I never found out what it was like and just have gaming be my sole focus just like when I was younger.

I might feel differently some day, but right now? At this exact moment? I'm going back to what I do best:

  1. Going to work so I can support myself.
  2. Playing vidya games to escape reality like a boss.
  3. Rinse and repeat.

If someone just falls into my lap (no pun intended), that's super-duper. But I'm not going to jump through hoops just to be in a relationship.

I fully expect a lot of "csb"s and downvotes, but it was therapeutic to post to this board which I lurk in a lot.
