I really need to start testing

I have been working on ruby and rails for about an year now. I am ashamed and embarrassed to say that I have not written any test cases. I have been working an start up project and people around me have been much focused on results rather than tests. I have decided not to work in the same way henceforth. I need to start on TDD and any advice on how to take it forward is greatly appreciated.
