Anyone else think releasing Nokia PureView was a bad idea?

I am not sure what Nokia were thinking. They could have released a WP8 Nokia PureView camera and had all the press going mad about it. Now that they have released a Symbian version, all the competitors know what they are up to and I wouldn't be surprised if they release something with similar tech.
