Ball Python question

About 6 months before I deployed I got my first Ball, I did a lot of socialization and he does well with everyone. (never strikes, eats well, etc) My friends have been caring for him while I have been gone and he still does great and eats very well.

I am returning home in about a month and I am going to upgrade his tank from a 25gal to a 55gal and was thinking about homing 1-2 more Balls.

I know many pet stores will have multiple snakes in one cage for obvious reasons but is this ok for a home setup? Or will they not work out together? Possibly a bigger tank if I want to house more than one?

I know I can google this info all day but I would rather have the info from someone that knows first hand rather than a site or a pet store trying to sell me more for their profit.
