Do you enjoy reading plays?

In school we were forced to read Shakespeare's plays. It always seemed ridiculous to me, because I thought plays were meant to be watched not read. Maybe it was just the Shakespeare I couldn't get passed, but I absolutely hated reading plays. So apart from Shakespearian plays I've only read "The Christmas Carol" I enjoyed that, but that's probably because we read it aloud with different students as various characters. I don't enjoy reading plays, but I'm open to non-Shakespearian play recommendations? so u guise liek 2 read plays?

*Edit: I did like Caesar
