Why do we have Assistance subreddits when everyone hates on the people there?
I was posting in one subreddit for a while because I was looking for gear for college to help out with. I have a Graphic Arts major and a music minor, so I needed stuff like special computers, software programs, instruments, dance equipment, et cetera. Well, as everyone is well aware, college kids don't make a lot of money, in fact we ARE in the red every month. When I posted a couple of times, people just told me to get a job. I have three.....and they don't help with anymore than just paying basic bills. My question to you reddit is this, why do we have these subreddits if not only are some people legimately not getting the help when they need it, (and people in worse cases then myself) but in fact are being ridiculed for being lazy. I challenge everyone of you today to go to a subreddit and make a small kind gesture to someone out there. It doesn't have to be huge, it can be anything. I've taken down my postings because of the sheer lack of common curtesy, but let this not be a damper to help someone else.
