I've heard this question before but I don't know how to answer this logically or philosophically or give an example to this. I thought r/askphilosophy might help.

This may sound idle and pointless I just want to hear how to best answer this:

If I am closer to the North Pole than to the Moon, why can I see the Moon and not the North Pole?
