I'll be in Kos next month. Has anyone run there before or got advice for running in 30°c plus?

I'll be in Kos next month (near Kos town) and I've been looking at maps. It appears there might be some good routes to run, especially up the mountain, but I was wondering if anyone had been there before and could offer advice.

Also, being from Scotland where temperatures reach 25°c in summer for a few days at best, I'm not used to running in the heat. Any tips other than drink plenty, wear a hat and avoid midday running?
