Will the stigma for BPD ever go away?

I just came across a comment in another subreddit that basically said, "I don't have any sympathy for anyone with BPD, it's just a made up disorder for someone with an evil personality." This statement made my blood boil! I come across ignorant comments about BPD every day that follow this vein, and it really bothers me. Many people are also still under the impression that BPD is untreatable. Will this stigma ever go away? Has anyone else here experienced ignorance like this IRL?
