Reddit, do you remember any teachers that drove you up the wall?

I remember very few bad teachers in my school career. This one is one of the worst. I think he picked on me just for kicks. He was a new teacher, and the first day he was in our class (he was a teaching assistant) he came over to me and asked me a few questions. I was working on something, and I guess I wasn't giving him full attention, so he pulled me over to the side of the room and took a few minutes to explain how he demanded certain levels of respect when I was being spoken to, and I was nodding along, but I have a huge thing with this. Teachers need to earn respect before they ask for it. It bothers me when they expect something from nothing, but I digress.

Two weeks later, I'm trying to act a little better around him, just to stay out of trouble, when he asks me to meet him in the room beside the one we're currently in, and to be there at lunch. I show up, and he wants me to write fifty lines, saying, "I will show Mr. Jordan more respect in the classroom." Why? Because I was sitting improperly. What kind of bullshit is that. The worst part is, the next week he did it again. I was kneeling on the desk (knees bent, not up) with my arms resting on the desk, and he somehow takes this as a personal insult. I wrote the hundred lines he wanted this time, and I went down to thank him afterwards, just to be a smartass. The next week, I noticed he was gone. I was told he was pursuing a new career, I think he just got fired. Either way, I couldn't have been happier to see him go.
