French Nursery Rhymes?
Hi fellow reditteurs(sp?), I am doing a small, 1-month French language course (just dipping my feet to check the pool, figuratively speaking).
One of our teacher uses, and recommended, that we use French nursery rhymes to help with both our understanding and our pronunciation.
His idea is that instead of stressing over our pronunciation, we can just follow the rhyme, and in trying to sing along, our pronunciation will automatically correct itself, since an incorrectly pronounced word would not fit the rhyme.
Also, it's a very good way of enhancing vocabulary, after all, native French kids learn the same way, right?
For example, today we were learning "les jours de la semaine" and we followed this rhyme:

When we were learning this topic in another class, our pronunciation for a lot of words was awkward. Following the rhyme however, our pronunciation smoothened, since we were singing along. Only problem was Vendredi, which our teacher then help us correct and then we were on our way.
My request is, could my fellow redditeurs recommend a website with a set of French nursery rhymes (preferably with lyrics)? I guess I could just youtube it, but I am not exactly sure what to look for, I mean, do French kids learn Ba Ba Black Sheep?
Oh, and with not too much background music, sometimes it creates difficulty in assessing the pronunciation.
Also, as an assignment, our teacher asked us to look for a particular french nursery rhyme, that goes something like this:
one, two, three
I walk into the wood
four, five, six
I pluck ripe cherries
seven, eight, nine
in my new basket
and so on. Has anyone ever heard of this one?
