So, Duels of the Planeswalkers. Do the bots cheat?
I always assumed it was just me being bitter when I got unlucky, but I've seen a few people in DotP discussions talking about it too.
Is it just the starting hands that feel rigged? Or do you think there's something helping them pick the cards they need when they need them to make games more dramatic? Maybe they calculate plays based on cards they've not drawn yet?
Can't count the number of times I've dominated one down to <8 life or so only for them to then swing the game with their next card and win in the next couple of turns. Often this won't seem like a lucky topdeck, like if they take a turn of full damage then drop two spells the following turn, one of which would have still helped the previous turn.
I'm not amazing at the game, so maybe its just me.. but at the very least it does feel like the shuffling in this game errs on the side of kicking your ass.
edit- stories of bots mulling down to 5 cards are very interesting. I only play really casually, so don't pay that much attention to my opponent's hand size at the start of the game, but that's something I'll definitely keep an eye out for from now on. edit2- breadth of discussion here's been genuinely interesting. I'll not be raging quite so hard when the AI screws me over now. :3
