this note I'm throwing to you from the radio tower, I know you will never read.
you unravel the neatly folded piece of paper, found on the forest floor accidently kicked up with your foot.
My mind had yet again be thrown into the darkness, and somehow kick started into life yet again on that god awful beach. Being somehow familiar of the place I had awoken, I sensed the dread of a distance I may have had to cross.
I looked up, and this dread I had growing inside me was enhanced 10 fold with the sight before me. A bridge... THAT bridge. I realised the strange familiar truth. I was west. Very west.
With a taste of disgust in my mouth, and my clothes wet and sandy, I looked upon the mountain before me, leading into the forest beyond.
This time, I thought, I was going north.
After several minute's of jogging I thought I should begin heading to a deer stand. Not this time was I going to run for my life along the coast... This time I was going to do it the safe way.
And there in the deer stand it was. A beautiful AKS Kobra. My plan was coming along nicely and I soon started heading east jogging quietly inside the lonesome forrests, safe from those bastard towns on the coast.
And then, after what seemed like hours running through the millions of tree's, I hoped did not understand my pressence, I became hungry and thirsty like a addiction I knew I needed to sustain. Oh god, I had to head towards those damn towns of such smells and screams. They WILL NOT eat me this time..
After searching the town called balota, I had started to become hungry like I had not known before. I left the town like an injured animal not finding what I had needed and left knowing my own fate. I had almost given up.
And then I looked through the trees and saw you.
A had found myself looking at the balota airport control tower, and I noticed you jogging towards me. My hunger... my hunger had transformed. I looked slowly down at the machine I had between my hands and I understood what had to be done.
You were carrying an AK also, and the sight of this made me scared.
Was I more hungry than scared? I doubt we shall never know, for all that I remember next is that we got into a firefight. It was a true battle for survival, with each of us firing from several different positions, what remained of my hunger was a distant memory.
We both did inflict a good amount of blood loss to the other, but After spending several minutes in silence, among those tree's I wondered if I dare enter that tower, to look for anything I might possibly eat.
And then I saw you again. You were not moving. it would seem that I managed to get a lucky shot off while I shot in your direction as I ran for cover after recieving a few shots in places I was still too high on adrenaline to consider.
Your backpack was filled with so much.
It even had the rare antibiotics. I was so over whelmed with tension, hunger and stress, that I grabbed what I could and ran into the forest like the uncivilised creature I had become.
Your loss had become what kept me alive. I am strong now, and I extinguish the pity full lives of those infected, you were the brother to me in the god forsaken land that was so new to us.
Thankyou my brother, and while I stand on this radio tower surveying the lands in which countless like us are clawing for their own survival, I just hope this piece of paper I have written this on finds itself into the hands of another survivor, who just next time, might have been a little stronger, and not so terrified at the situation in which I was thrust, and realised that you my brother, may have been an ally to escape this crazy island of a 1000 terrified dreams and not one god damn can a beans.
Together, we might just all survive.
