I'm somewhere in the debug plains, what do I do?

So since 1.7.2 I've spawned in the debug forest three times. The first two times I escaped in about 5 minutes by running directly east, and I usually end up entering the actual map somewhere around Zelenogorsk.

Now, this time everything is different. I have been running east/south-east for roughly half an hour and have yet to find ANYTHING. I assumed that if I run south-east I will eventually find the coast, but I'm just not sure. Here is where I currently am, and as you can probably tell - I'm really, really lost. I have enough supplies to last me for a while, and I really don't want to lose the gear I have.

So, any tips? :P
