Do I have paruresis?
Hi, I'm a 17 year old male and for the last few months I have difficulty peeing in public, especially on the standing urinals. Then, I realized it is caused by me feeling uncomfortable while trying to pee. This caused personal complications during my tour to Europe last year, however there was no disturbing or very difficult problem i have to deal with because if the urge is intense enough I can pee with no problem.
This changed, or I noticed it changed a few months ago in a mall when I really felt the urge and felt that nothing can stop me I failed to pee so I had to hold it in excruciatingly. However, the bathroom stall in this mall is the worst kind; It has, i kid you not, high hanging bathroom stall separators AND reflective floors. This extremely uncomfortable situation caused the advancement of my peeing problem.
I have found a solution that sometimes works when no big disturbance is around me, which is going to a stall and sitting as if I want to do a #2 than I would try to push/contract the lower area of my body, again, as if I want to do an intense #2 . Most of the time this method would work.
I too have found an ultimate solver, I can't call it a solution because I don't know if this will make the problem go or just an avoidance. Fortunately I live in a city where a lot of bathroom stalls has jet showers in it (usually to clean the behind after poop), and I use that jet shower to spray on the head of my penis and this never fails to make me pee. I see this as no permanent solver because it is conditional; not all bathroom stalls has jet showers in it. But I want to add something to ask, is this kind of self-treatment bad? is it a solution or just avoiding the problem? Is there any similar way i can stimulate or force my penis to pee that can be used all the time? and back to original question, do i have paruresis?
