Recommendations for hotels?

To the Sydneysiders, The partner and I are staying in Sydney in a few weeks for four nights or so (over a weekend) and was wondering if anyone has any personal recommendations that wont break the bank? Was looking somewhere close to the CBD or somewhere like Bondi for the tourist appeal.
