New window had hole for extractor fan but no screw holes

We've recently had new windows installed. Kitchen window has a hole for an extractor fan which fits snuggly into it but no holes for screws.

I'm kind of expecting to have holes here for the screws to go through but I really don't know anything about these and there's very little online that shows you how it's done on a window.

PC fans typically screw straight into the plastic they attach to without threaded holes. Surely I'm not expected to have to screw these through the glass. That just doesn't seem right lol.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Some photos would help

Sounds like you have a wall fan rather than a window fan.

Window fans usually clamp together with ladder strips between the inside and outside parts.

The screws go through the same hole as the cutout for the duct, and hold the fan in place by pulling the inside and outside halves together.

If the hole in the window is the same size as the duct, you either need a smaller fan, or a window with a bigger hole

It's just a double glazed window and the hole cut is perfect for the fan to fit in with no room for the screws as they hit glass when I put them in.

I'd assumed the guys who made the windows would know what they're doing. I may need to speak with them as I may need the hole being made bigger since the fan came in non resealable packaging.

Looking at the instructions if it's a 150mm fan it needs a 184mm hole.

The hole is too small then if the screws hit the glass. If you provided the cut out measurements it’s down to you but if you gave them the fan and instructions it’s down to them and they should make a new one.
