Considering they've only been on for three years when AiC has been on for much longer I'd say it makes perfect sense.

I mean, how long has Tool been on Spotify compared to Alice In Chains? That’s why Tool numbers are lower.

True, I didn't rememver that as I only started using Spotify last year or so.

Looking at average monthly listeners AIC is about double tool so I guess the logic still stands that chains are more 'popular' on Spotify which I'm surprised at slightly.

Tool did not allow digital streaming of their music until very recently. so this makes sense.

Ahh there you go. Explains it.

Tool list is about what I expect but I didn't know Nutshell was so popular. I wonder if it was in some popular movie or TV show or something.

Jar of Flies is my favorite AIC. Incredible album.

I honestly love nutshell always have, it is actually the first Alice in Chains song I learned on the guitar.

Same here re nutshell, it'd one of my favourites but I was surprised it was that high on this list.

They play it live every show and dedicate it to Layne (and now Mike) since 2009 return to touring.

It was also the lead song on the unplugged show.

So those two things maybe influence its rank on popularity on the Spotify list

Does Spotify count a full listen as a play?

Tbh, even though I love Tool, sober is the only song I basically "tolerate" and don't absolutely love by them.

It's so good. I remember it when it came out in high school. The band seemed so serious...and the VIDEO... OMG.

Is this your view because it so super played out so you just cant be bothered anymore? I feel that about rooster...ive heard it 31 trillion times. Still. When I hear it played somewhere not by me I love it.

Was informed in comments that tool were on streaming much later than Alice, explaining some of the disparity.

Still Average monthly listeners are about 5.9 million for Alice and 3.2 million for tool. So it's a fairly large gap. Surprising.

Prove? It's an observation. Read my comment.
