Great photo! I love the library archives.

The WWI Memorial opened in late 1926 & construction on the Post Office (now IRS) building on Pershing began in 1930, so this was taken in that span of time.

I thought to myself "huh, that old train roundhouse must have been cool"...then I looked and it's still there. Looks like it's on private property though.

Wow, good catch! Never knew about that, but I'm going to try to take a peek next time I'm driving on the Boulevard.

Yeah, great catch on the roundhouse still being there. Just "above" that you can see many of the same buildings that are still part of the Boulevard campus (including the Beer Hall).

And the Western Auto building is very visible on the other side of Union Station.

Yep I recently found this scrolling google maps. You can actually see part of it from the road and I think you could probably drive up and see it from a fence for a brief moment.

I was doing some personal research on some of the design proposals for Liberty Memorial when happened across this image from KC History. I highly recommend anyone interested in history check out the free-to-access repository! It is managed by the Kansas City Public Library and is a great collection of everything KC.

Anyone have an overlay of a modern view? That would look neat.
