I love the title. Makes me think when someone ask you if you are ok. But in reality you feel empty and hate yourself. I would just say that the format could be better, but the peom is great.

I truly admire the styles of those poets who use condensed imagery to express worlds. I don't know if in your case this was a conscious effort or just your natural style, but I reckon it's very hard to pull off well. However, I must say that some lines just didn't click for me. Maybe I'm being stupid, but "houses without dogs feel empty" doesn't mean much to me. "Bandaids on my feet", on the contrary, is a clever way to express the feeling of walking on eggshells, as I believe another commenter interpreted it. I think though, if you were going for a very condensed poem, you could have made more use of vivid imagery, even if with simple words. For example, the first line of the poem describes a situation, but it doesn't do it by way of imagery. I think if one were to use an image which would point in that direction, rather than saying it straight away, it would suit the abstract tone of the rest of the poem better. The same goes for the title.

Hello readers, welcome to OCpoetry. This subreddit is a writing workshop community -- a place where poets of all skill levels can share, enjoy, and talk about each other's poetry. Every person who's shared, including the OP above, has given some feedback (those are the links in the post) and hopes to receive some in return (from you, the readers).

If you really enjoyed this poem and just want to drop a quick comment, to show some appreciation or give kudos, things like "great job!" or "made me cry", or "loved it" or "so relateable", please do. Everyone loves a compliment. Thanks for taking the time to read and enjoy.

If you want to share your own poem, you'll need to give this writer some detailed feedback. Good feedback explains from your point of view what it was like to read the poem, and then tries to explain how the poem made you feel like that. If you're not sure what that means, check out our feedback guide, or look through the comment sections of any other post here, or click the links to the author's feedback above. If you're not sure whether your comments are feedback, or you have any other questions, please send us a modmail.

I really related to this story. I feel to me it brought emotions of my own experiences. My thoughts and emotions being expressed hurting my partner. I also like the illustration of you walking on eggshells. I interpreted this as not being able to be honest with hurting them.
