Meaning you could only summon them if you had Chakra to do so first. So did these animals exist before or after the Ōtsutsuki bred with humans and why do the Ōtsutsuki not care about these animal dimensions when many are extremely powerful.

Yea but to summon one you need regular chakra so how would you even know to summon one if you had never met them before because of the lack of chakra to summon one? For instance when Naruto did his first summon, would have been impossible if he had not had chakra which was given to them by the Ōtsutsuki long ago.
You don't have to summon one. It's stated you can get to mount myoboku for instance by normal means of travel and in the reverse means the roads or other animals can travel outside their "realm" into the rest of the world too (albeit the path to mount myoboku is a secret). It's shown in what is probably filler that gamamaru (toad) went and visited hagoromo and Hamura.
Thats cool, and makes sense that Gamamaru sought out Hagoromo. Was also thinking as well that Hagoromo may have had something to do with it in his travels exploring the world.
You don’t need to summon them really. You can walk there but depending where you are iirc they said it’ll take 3 days or 3 weeks or 3 months or something like that during the pain invasion.
Hagoromo namedrops Gamamaru and his prophesy. I view this as validation of the fillers where they meet before chakra became widespread.
The animals are not in their own dimension. You can literally get to Mount Myoboku and Ryuchi cave on foot.
Sage animals exist separately of Hagoromo giving everyone chakra.
Because Otsutsuki didn’t bring Chakra to the Earth, if they did, the whole idea of planting God Trees would make no sense

The animals don't need to have chakra in their body to be summoned.
Summoning is a space time Ninjutsu that transports something to you it doesn't matter if it's living or non living.
Summoning jutsu needs chakra to perform that's true.
Nature energy. The Ōtsutsuki gave humanity the ability to harness and use the first 2 types of chakra, but nature chakra existed the whole time, the sages learned how to use nature chakra I believe before the Ōtsutsuki came around, but am not too sure about that

the toad sage explain it as physical and spiritual energies, inside the body, and natural energy is all around. I don’t know if it’s actually chakra or not but what else kind of energy would it be in Naruto?
