I think I've seen that video, is it the one where the dude orders a stripper to his college lecture? If we're thinking of the same video that professor isn't even trans lol
To be completely honest the length of title and trying to get the point across is why I went with the simple blanket statement-ing. It gets the point across of “people see person, onslaught of transphobia” without it being too complicated of a title. Admittedly I meant to leave a comment clarifying more detail but I was kind of sucked up into dealing with annoying laptop storage and so on.
If it came off as disingenuous and manipulating the situation I am sorry, truly wasn’t the intention. That was the video, and personally I was surprised at the amount of pure transphobia in the comments over something that have absolutely no mention of trans what-so-ever and just went to re-watching it after seeing that (earlier).
Anyway, I am sorry again if any of that came off poorly. :(
No no! I wasn't talking about the title! I was commenting on how misplaced these people's hatred is, they'll see any sort of masculine looking woman and immediately assume they're transgender which is wrong on so many levels, I'm sorry that my comment came across as critiquing you, that wasn't my intention in the slightest.
Oh I was worried the vagueness of the title could be taken poorly. But what you say makes sense now, and yeah there was such a wild amount of transphobia spewed out over a woman who is masculine looking or sounding not what they deem to be “womanly”. They just watched and then reacted based on their immediate reaction around their shitty beliefs.. it is very wrong for sure. So hyper-fixated on analyzing features of people now wanting to “catch” trans people. It’s unfortunate for anyone on the receiving end.
You don’t really have to be sorry, I know that I can often take things as attacks. Like I am in the wrong by default feel. You are a nice person. Will apologize thought for my delayed reply, just brain being brain took me away from getting back sooner.
