Rosters only expand by 2 spots and if I'm not mistaken, we'd only have 1 pitcher spot available, so I would assume that spot would go to Martinez. Hopefully I'm wrong and we get to see Brown though. I understand why, but it's crazy to think that he's pitched the full year at AAA

I'd rather he stay in Sugar Land where he can keep playing and stay active. We simply don't have room in the rotation for him.

There just isn’t a spot for him. Like our worst reliever is probably Maton, but if we use Brown as a reliever he might be too good in that role to go back to starting

To me it sounds and looks like Brown could be a real weapon, maybe even as a reliever in this years playoffs. I’m in favor of bringing him up, give him lots of low leverage opportunities at first, and see how he responds to pitching 1-2 innings.
With Maton and Montero’s struggles, and the possibility that Will Smith is just done, we could really use another strong option out of the pen.
Since Brown is a starter he may make sense as the long relief guy in the playoffs, except that we already have Urquity, Garcia and Javier as candidates for that role. And if Brown has such nasty stuff, he could be a great relief option.
