Red dot or Green dot for a P-10 F?
I'm looking at optics for my newest purchase. Is there any benefit to Green over Red? Do you have any recommendations?

Apparently the human eye picks up green better than red but still most people I talk to prefer red. The green reticle also uses more battery life than red.
I think reticle shape is more important than the colour. Always get a circle dot, triangle, or a large moa dot.
If you can go look at both.
Personally I only have red. I wanna try green.
But I have no issues with red.
If you are debating a Holosun I think the 507c with acss is a pretty cool reticle. Less battery life but the 250moa ring is pretty trick.
Go look at both if you have a chance its the only way For you to see how your eyes view it. Holosuns are both bright it wont wash out like some are suggesting for anything we are using. The big manufacturers make them in green so not sure what the one person is talking about. My Astigmatism fucks with my red dots/ accs 507c but i like setup. Also depends on your budget and mount options.
There is also a gold/yellow option but is always out of stock.
Edit : battery issue in non existent 507/407 it's side loaded now and up to 50k hours plus has shake n wake and solar for this so called "urban combat"
I second this. 507c acss is what I would give my gf if I needed her to hit somethng in a panic. Impossible to fumble finding the chevron. Plus the Chevron has ranging capabilities.
I sniped two acss at $419 one night from soleyoutdoors shoulda bought a few more.
Ya. I only have one and it is a great optic. Also have the 508. Not as food for long distance. ai find the 32 moa ring and dot a bit cluttered.
Of you ever looking for just a dot again. Since they are always outta stock. Irunguns has them for 300ish i think canadian was going to bring a couple over. No accs on there though. Im looking for a green accs thats not 500plus dollars. I seen the red one now for crazy amount again. The eps ones should be coming to all enclosed as well.

Green is not going to work well outdoors. You wont really find green as an option from any serious manufacturer.
Tell that to eotech and urban environments
Looking deeper I see that holosun and trijicon make green dot sights as well. Hopefully OP is not planning on shooting in urban environments.
Indoor ranges technically count as urban, depending if you have land and build a "kill house" too
I'd be using it for IPSC. Largely outdoors.
Ftp alpha 3
Highly recommend red over green. Perhaps the human eye picks up green better but a red dot is much better contrasted against all target colours and environments.
except urban environments, riots, somewhere with fires or open flames
I'd rather have the option to switch between both
The red dot will still pop better on high brightness. Besides, there is no optic suitably durable for such environments that has a red and green emitter.
cool, I'm just talking out of my - research - because I have some neuro-optical condition where everything looks very high ISO so a red dot is surprisingly hard to make out. I don't expect a green dot to help in my case, but I was hearing that urban environments, especially when fires are present, were much more conducive to green dots, and suspected that made sense.
I don't know, I haven't had the opportunity to check one out yet, but I was planning to test a spitfire prism optic, I believe it has both red/green on top of the black etching on the unilluminated prism. In my case, the black might work better than either colors as it should be easiest to distinguish from the scintillating noise I see everywhere, but having the option to illuminate green can't hurt.
I would have thought the option was common in the high-end options, never checked them out because it's out of my range anyways
I highly recommend the Holosun 508T with the 32moa ring only option. You actually frame what tou wanna hit. Great reticle.
