Need help deciding.......Yamaha VX or VXHO.

We are thinking about purchasing a new jet ski. We currently have a 2003 FX 140 with 170 hrs. We have had it for 8 years and it does everything we need but I'm begining to worry about its age and leaving us stranded. My wife and I always ride together and usually just cruise the lake at around 25-30 mph. We have no need or desire to do top speed runs. We just want it to be able to pull both of us up and out of the water. This will be its main use with the son in laws and daughters knee boarding and tubing a very limited amount of time. We don't usually ride when the lake is crazy which is why I'm leaning towards the VX series instead of the FX. I know the HO 1.8 would handle all this but I feel like it would be overkill and just burning extra gas while we're cruising along at 25 mph which I'm pretty sure the base TR-1 1.0 motor could handle. Thoughts from the people out there that have the base VX TR-1 1.0 motors and are you happy with them?
