A loner with his scooter

Poem

A loner with his scooter,

Sits down on a bench.

In the distance,

Snowy mountains.

On his face, cold wind.

On his mind, nothing,

Everything.

...

"Are you ok ?", the scooter asks.

"Yes, no", the loner replies.

"What's wrong ?"

"Everything"

"What is right ?"

"Everything"

...

A loner with his scooter,

His trusty little

Vehicle shining

From the light of the

Setting red sun,

Ocean blue.

I love poems that adress solitude or uncertainty. To me, these two states of mind are the most beautiful things a person can experience. Also I enjoyed how you portrayed nature. To me it seems like an almighty force that preaches on those two states of mind mentioned in the beginning.

I like this poem, using a simple conversation style between the boy and the scooter it conveys the complicated feelings that you can both feel ok and not ok. It resonated with me because I feel lonely yet peacefully both sometimes and can relate. Also the nature adds a nice backdrop

Nice one, a loner is a loner to the world but not to themselves, here too, coz is accompanied by a trusty little scooter friend.

So I guess this piece is about whats in a head of this loner during solitude and the imaginary friends one creates in the mind to cope up with not having someone friendly tangible by you. And the state of mind which is confused, seeking peace, Im not sure of this part. Enjoyed it, thanks 👏

I like the way you interpret it. The way I see it, it's the story of a guy who brings his scooter everywhere. Because of solitude, the mind gives a personality to this object, the scooter. The guy suffers because of his solitude, but at the same time, he finds the solitude peaceful.

I love this! I relate to the theme of ambiguity with the state of our lives and the world around us, and to the way a scooter (or whatever anyone else may have as a sort of escape) can make us feel absolutely okay with it.

I could be wrong but to me the boy is talking to his scooter because it's his only companion but the boy is ok with this because he is content with his little scooter

Hello readers, welcome to OCpoetry. This subreddit is a writing workshop community -- a place where poets of all skill levels can share, enjoy, and talk about each other's poetry. Every person who's shared, including the OP above, has given some feedback (those are the links in the post) and hopes to receive some in return (from you, the readers).

If you want to share your own poem, you'll need to give this writer some detailed feedback. Good feedback explains from your point of view what it was like to read the poem, and then tries to explain how the poem made you feel like that.
