To my cheating dad.
they say betrayal shapes you
It molds you into who you are
But it wasn't me, the one betrayed
Yet look at me, what I've become
...
Crying, mourning the person you were
Or maybe the person I thought you to be
Tell me why does this hurt this bad
It feels like when you did it, you cheated on me
...
I know mom forgives you
It was me who convinced her to
I just wish I can be as careless as she is
I tried but, it's something I can never do
...
I know it was a phone thing
I know it wasn't that deep
But what about the promises you broke
The ones you were supposed to keep
...
I liked you and defended you to everyone
When I had the proof on my phone
Thinking if I ignored it long enough
Maybe it will go away on its own
...
I wish I can forgive and forget
And I sometimes do, for a little while
But then memories flood my mind
And all I can do is write or cry
...
And I can't rant to anyone because
How bad will that make you look
How bad will it make me look
A pitiful daughter to a cheating dad
A wreck to be fixed
Pretty tragic, pretty sad
