Pursuit

Poem

Keep dragging your feet,
We’ll be there soon

We’ve lost our way,
But I’ll find it soon

Just give me the push,
I’ll be flying soon

And I’ll keep you in mind,
Just remind me to

Haven’t been home,
But I promise to call

Had one too many,
But I promise that’s all

Seeing those pictures,
And missing the flaws

Had one too many,
But I promise that’s all

I worked and I slaved,
I’m so glad that I’m here

I’m posh and I’m paid,
So glad that I’m here

Got what I deserved,
It may come with some bad

Seems death is a flirt,
But I swear that I’m glad

I came and I conquered,
I did what I did

I miss what I missed,
But I did what I did

Lost privilege to take,
So I’d be able to give

But I gave you nothing,
I did what I did

I promised to call,
But it’s just too loud

I wish we could talk,
But I’m just too proud

Think of my voice,
You won’t recognize me

Had one too many,
Maybe now I can—
