If Paradox ever make a Southeast Asia DLC it would most likely be a rebellion/insurgency expansion
Most of South East Asia's governments fell quickly against Japan but our biggest contributions towards the war is the massive insurgency network that took the fight to the Japanese.
Vietnam-Viet Minh was formed during 1941 and tied Japanese forces to garrison duty to much effect. Extensive OSS cooperation was happening. To a point where American OSS doctors saved Ho Chi Minh's life.
Indonesia - Japan encouraged the formation of Nationalist movements alot of the soldiers who would be fighting the dutch in the 50s were japanese trained. Though there was some level of resistance as the large amounts of labour related deaths did create some hatred.
Philippines - The Filipino insurgency was extremely effective. At it's high time 80% of the country was guerilla confirmed with the exceptions of Japanese Strongholds like Manila. The US had extensive connections with them.
Malaysia - alot of the source of atrocities and rebellion in Malaysia was revolved around its Chinese population. The Japanese treated Asean Chinese with alot of hatred. The Chinese MPAJA did alot of the action here.
