Oberon’s kin

Poem

Life like the breathe of sputtering candles,

Often vain and poisonous and guttural.

Casting shadows to keep darkness at bay.

Would a wish be a nebula,

Fathomless cloud of dust.

A star waiting for birth.

The price of light,

crushing gravity, to be burned for creation.

Distorting the peace of a universe.

Fae prince, we are not unalike

Secreting true names away,

to be kept unbound,

to live free.

Space and time, no illusion, no reprieve.

Will the sea of stars have room for one such as me

Return my being to earth and water.

My soul I give to wind and fire.
