Hate Piece

There are so many things I can say,

Where to begin, Maybe best to start plain,

What did I do wrong, when did I stray,

What reasons to feel such pain?

I look back on heart throbbing nights,

Promises made under starlights,

All the things you said to me,

Yet behind honeyed words lay

The truth I couldn’t see.

​

I finally feel it, the hatred for you,

Something I never thought I could,

But I do.

​

I gave so much time and passion,

I wanted to share in the world,

Our partnership a stout bastion,

Yet your rejection finally unfurled.

​

Now I look, and realise that I stand here

With nothing but shattered memories and fear

Regret for someone who makes me feel like shit,

That I can’t be loved, oh dear.

​

I remember it all, your interests and fascination,

So scared you didn’t want to share,

I wanted you to be who you were,

I loved every part of you, and you never seemed to care.

​

My parents, my mindset taught me to forgive,

Maybe I get this one exception for you,

Cause now I somehow have to live,

Too long sat and in false hopes stew.

​

You have shown it meant nothing,

Now I feel it, the motivation and strength,

I get to show the truth - that you made the mistake,

I move on knowing that anything you felt,

Was all just a fake.

​

This was your choice and selection,

I will create and make my achievements list long,

Adding these poems to my collection,

All with the burning desire to prove you wrong.
