This guy says it just the way it is - interesting YouTube analysis
Interesting video analysis on Rings of Power: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YywN8Z8nH_Y
Of the many, many YouTubers discussing the upcoming RoP show, I think Disparu nails it quite well: the show is made by arrogant and selfish people for arrogant and selfish people. These people don´t give anything about originality, authenticity or real diversity. They don´t even really try to pretend they want to honor Tolkien´s work, rather adapt (or "improve") it to their own narrow-minded standards, which they call "timeless". It couldn´t be less timeless in fact.
Anyway, check this video out.

I am fairly pessimistic on the show. After marketing campaign made inclusivity and diversity of cast into a focal point I am also concerned about the casting, which I guess makes me racist and amongst the target audience of this guy (and the myriad other channels like nerdotic, yellow flash etc.) Those videos count on rage hype to get more clicks and even if they have legit points to make those are usually mixed with a lot of speculation and unsubstantiated claims. I purposefully refrain from all of them, as this is the opposite of somebody screaming “you have to like the show or you are racist”
There are other channels that express their concerns (or optimism) of the production in a much more substantiated manner and I suggest you stick to those. Rage baits suck
I agree. Personally I liked nerd of the rings coverage, actually made me slightly more hopeful and excited, I’m still cautious though
Check out Tolkien Untangled. Far less biased than NOTR imo.
I’ll might. Show also comes out very soon any way. In what way did you view notr is biased?
I don't think NOTR is as biased as some sources, to be clear. But it is biased. It become impossible for me to ingnore after the all expense paid trip to London. After that, the critical takes dropped off a cliff and he somehow became ok with the time compression and two Durins being alive at once (he would say in one breath he wasn't and the next breath he was). Anything critical he says now is always followed up by some sort walking back, usually via extreme mental gymnastics imo.
Rainbow Dave seems way more honest and unfettered imo. The fact that he didn't join the other influencers at any of the Amazon PR events is also encouraging imo.
