Hello readers, welcome to OCpoetry. This subreddit is a writing workshop community -- a place where poets of all skill levels can share, enjoy, and talk about each other's poetry. Every person who's shared, including the OP above, has given some feedback (those are the links in the post) and hopes to receive some in return (from you, the readers).

If you really enjoyed this poem and just want to drop a quick comment, to show some appreciation or give kudos, things like "great job!" or "made me cry", or "loved it" or "so relateable", please do. Everyone loves a compliment. Thanks for taking the time to read and enjoy.

If you want to share your own poem, you'll need to give this writer some detailed feedback. Good feedback explains from your point of view what it was like to read the poem, and then tries to explain how the poem made you feel like that. If you're not sure what that means, check out our [feedback guide](https://new.reddit.com/r/ocpoetry/wiki/feedbackcritiques), or look

A very melancholy work, your use of imagery serves to increase embody a sense of longing. Love is one of the most painful emotions in the sense that in its absence pain has so much room to roam. Thank you for sharing!

There’s so much imagery here. The personification (if that’s the right word) of joy, how you paint emotions as fighting for life. I do wonder if trying to fit this into a rhyme scheme might be limiting the message. Beautiful work

Very good. I can't stop myself from analyzing it. I think I know what was in your heart when you wrote it.

This was wonderful to read. Thank you for such a thoughtful comment.

Wow 😯 this one hit different, that longing you speak of plays an incredible role in this poem. The line “Love wanders so long, Before it falls into place.” I could feel my heart open in empathy towards that longing and then when it finally appears it feels too good to be true. Thank you 🙏 it’s inspiring with a twist of the bleeding teeth like a tooth ache that never seems to go away. Love hurts, but true love within doesn’t.
