Poem

sing for me, sing, victoria. oh
but I see you playing, again, my love, one summer
noon, hot and quiet, your hands rising
at the keys, and falling, like birds, your face remote,
closed, in reverie—
you were not there, you were apart,
and I stood silent
and small as a stone, I stood and looked
with my two large hands, I looked out the
window, Victoria, I saw
nothing, nothing again—I see you playing,
your hands at the keys, and I there standing,
not saying
anything, everything, I could not say
it all, I could not say it at all.

I wrote this when I was seventeen and haven't changed it 😅 I thought I'd post it just for the hell of it.

Closure before Departure
I edit myself out of photographs.
