I long for the day when the world truly understands the rude reality of what mental illnesses and disorders are really like. Your poem was beautiful and necessary to highlight awareness of a topic many don't want to hear.
Thank you ❤️ my experience will never be as beautiful as people make depression out to be. I wanted it to sound sort of crude 💗💗
This poem resonated so much with me! Your usage of imagery is impressive, and I like your contemporary references. The line "The pads of my fingers are insensitive to the back of my throat," is painfully relatable. Absolutely heartbreaking but beautiful poem!
I'm sorry that you can relate ❤️
This poem is really beautiful. It’s so real and it manages to put into words the feelings of the writer. I particularly appreciate it because I can relate to it, admittedly more than I would like to. I also love how it speaks out on this idea that people have that depression is this quirky and beautiful thing. It isn’t and this poem explains it masterfully
Jesus Christ this is raw and beautiful.

Thank you we need more of this for real.
This poem is amazing :) (I'm not good at giving feedback though, sorry T^T). But the emotions you captured through this piece feel real, it feels like, well, a person. You aren't the #relatable #depression pictures on Tumblr, you are just trying to exist. Glamorization of mental illness doesn't help anyone, especially the people who suffer from it. At least that's what I got out of it, sorry if I didn't get the point T^T
You are spot on!!! I actually came up with this while watching a deep dive on the Tumblr sad girl era.
This poem is so wonderful because of its raw emotion bursting through the screen. The ideas are extremely well executed and thought out, but in some lines there are grammar errors and imperfections, which I love! Because intentionally or unintentionally, it really promotes your whole point of not dressing up your depression in this poem either, like other people have done, and yet its a beautiful poem nonetheless.
The grammar mistakes are mostly because I have dyslexia, so it's difficult to write without making mistakes. But I'm glad someone finds worth in my mistakes!
This is a beautiful and touching piece. Please keep writing.
This is well done: evocative and honest, making good use of unglamorous sensory details. If anything, I think your title almost undercuts the complexity of the poem, which seems to me to explore a lot more than just depression. I appreciate the abrupt ending, as well, it feels organic to the subject matter.
Cliché but true— Beauty lies in the eyes of beholder~°.
This is raw and real. It's an interesting perspective because I think the media really doesn't show examples of true depression.
Your imagery is filled with both examples of what depression is and what it is not and I find that back and forth to be helpful in understanding and also interesting to read.
And I'm not sure why but the line "My tongue is heavy and full" caught my attention because the between the lines I read was that the narrator has so much more to say but cannot? And then the poem ends abruptly with the "I-" I don't know if I read that correctly but that is what I got from it.
Either way, I the rawness makes it feel truthful and I think that gives readers as sense of universal understanding like, we're in this together and you're not alone if you have been here. I like it and it feels comforting to me.
Thank you for sharing.
You are spot on and I'm happy that you noticed that!
