Some time ago someone asked what coins people have in their grinder.

the trick is if you put a coin in the weed catch of your grinder it'll help kief separate from the weed, as well as keep the filter screen clean. letting you get even more kief

I've just finished an Oz after trying this hack and my kief catch is nearly full! I've never seen so much kief so quickly! definitely try it if you don't already

I can't post pictures for some reason but id love to share the yield. I got 1.3g from 28g of bud :)

I use a nut. Like the nut end off a bolt. It sticks to the magnet on the lid when I open the grinder and stays out of my way. Always lost coins. Had the same nut for like 11 years now.

I just recently bought a grinder. Been breaking my shit up by hand like a savage for decades. Wouldn't I want more kief in the weed I smoke vs having it all spill out on the bottom dish then scrape it and smoke it all at once when I run out of weed?

Exactly! I don't know why people want to scrape the kief off of their weed when they can just smoke it.

For those looking to tey it use a coin kike a nickel vs a dime, the nickrl has smooth edges vs other dimes and quarter and im not sure about pennies off hand. The ridges on the other coins can collect kief in them instead of knocking it down

Two tips:

-Clean the coin first (baking soda & distilled water scrub) -get yourself a £1 coin

I have a fairly small grinder (5cm diameter) so I have a very small 2.6g 1c coin, it's like 1.5cm in diameter, the coin is small enough to cover less than half of the screen so it can really get some movement in there

To me the joy of weed is the simplicity. To quote Scarface from Half Baked “Just smoke it B” all this worrying about kief, dabs, wax and vapes is too much. It’s a plant. Dry it out set it on fire. Inhale and relax.

Yeah that’s a great weed life hack and my kief has increased since I put a dime in mine.

Every bit of kief you collect is trichs you could've been smoking. The longer they sit in the air the more they degrade. If you want kief, just buy or make dry sift and use it fresh but don't intentionally knock it off your weed just to collect it and let it sit out.

I wish I still had a grinder the shit I got is like hash with a side of plant material, lil too strong, your like zone out fried for an hour then it’s either smoke more or take a nap, gun to head ya know?

Glad to help. Don’t think I never mentioned the coin in my grinder in that thread, it’s a 1939 Walking Liberty half dollar. Silver is anti microbial
