How?
It took only a moment,
No sooner than the thunder that follows the flash in the sky.
It took only a moment.
How a naive quiet confidence could’ve been rewarded such beauty.
How it felt to be seen, for the first time, truly and deeply seen.
How it felt to chase the butterfly that was pulling me to you.
How it felt to learn your small details, your mannerisms.
How sharing memories, became creating memories.
How comfortable it finally felt to be in the quiet.
How nothing ever truly compared anymore.
How nobody truly compared anymore.
How exciting every return home felt.
How you comforted every storm.
How every wall had fallen.
How soft your embrace.
How Beautiful.
How?
Now your embrace, hardened.
Now all the walls have now grown.
Now I’m the solo ship in every storm.
Now there is no longer a return of excitment.
Now all I do is compare, everything and everyone.
Now I can no longer sit in the quiet and feel any comfort.
Now creating memories has became nights of sleepless reminiscing.
Now I can barely even remember anything about you, or how we were.
Now there’s a void, an emptiness where an excitement was once found.
Now all I ever feel is numb, for the first time, I feel truly and deeply numb.
Now I’m naive, I’m quiet and unconfident, paying the price to have lost such beauty.
