Why is Shadow Blade core on Kunkka?

There's been a lot of discussion on the Shadow Blade item the last couple of days. The general consensus is that it's horrible on carries, and a much better choice would be Manta. But people seem to defend the item when the hero is Kunkka. Why is it considered core on him?
