13 yo cat is on 2 extended release omeprazole pills a day, is it safe to give them a couple hours apart?

Species: • Age: 13 • Sex/Neuter status: F/Spayed • Breed: DSH • Body weight: 3.8kg • History: IBD, currently on omeprazole. • Clinical signs: • Duration: • Your general location: Toronto Canada

My cat is currently on omeprazole (2.5mg per capsule, 2 capsules a day meant to be taken at the same time). I’m only able to give it to her by opening the capsule and sprinkling it on her food, however it’s impossible to give her 2 capsules worth in one feeding session. She’s always able to smell it by the halfway point even when mixing tuna/tuna water with it.

So would it be alright if I give her one pill and the second 2-4 hours later at her next feeding session? They’re extended release so I’m not sure if that would be a cause for concern. My vet is closed over the weekend so I’m not able to ask them until Monday. Any help is appreciated, thank you
