Am I being unreasonable? MIL wants us to watch her foster children for at least two weeks

Hi everyone,

So as the title states, my MIL asked my husband if he and I would watch her three foster kids for up to 4 weeks while she’s in Europe next summer. She offered to pay $1000 per week and my husband already said yes without talking to me about it.

I don’t want to do it. We have three daughters (5 year year old twins, almost 2 year old) already. He would be working, even if he works from home, he goes into a room and stays there most of the day. I’d be doing most of the babysitting as I’m a SAHM. I’m also doing my masters right now.

My MIL frequently talks about how they misbehave. They’re three boys, 7, 8, and 9. She talks about how they don’t listen, follow directions, and they’re inappropriate. They don’t understand boundaries. They’ve gotten in trouble for touching girls inappropriately and I just don’t want to be on edge with my girls.

I’ve thought about letting my girls stay w my mom while we watch them but i don’t want to spent my girls’ summer vacation watching someone else’s kids.

Am I being selfish, insensitive or unreasonable? I’m not sure how to address this if I’m not.
