Referral bonus program

So my firm has this policy where if an employee refers someone for an open position and they end up hired the person who referred the new hire gets $500 and another $500 if the new hire lasts 6 months. I referred my friend from paralegal school and she was hired in January. No one has mentioned my second $500. Is it rude of me to mention it? I’m getting a puppy soon so every extra dollar counts for me.
