Do apartments suck as bad as people make them up to be?

I apologize, I know this is a little bit off topic. So given the fact my landlord can sell the house for 150 to 200 grand more than what he paid for it, I am really afraid that he’s going to I have to move out by the beginning of 2023… Unless I get lucky and find a halfway decent house or condo for rent in my price range, pretty much my only option is going to be an apartment. I have never lived in an apartment so I don’t know what they’re like. A few people who I’ve talked to said that the noise is unbelievable, it’s hot in the summer cold in the winter, and you have to deal with roaches, bed bugs, mice, etc. all the time. So those of you that have lived in apartments, what is your opinion on them?
