I've wondered for sometime if Titans would have been better if ....

... the writers took a Stargirl approach to the show. Stargirl feels in a lot of ways like what a proper Titans tv series should have been light hearted with some dark elements in there. The older JSA is a active part of the story being told even without having them appearing a lot in the show as a team.

I feel the "Eff Batman " stuff from season 1 was entirely unnecessary Dick could have has daddy issues without the show trying to be over the top adult using language and violence. This served no purpose other than to limit the shows audience.

The best episode of season 1 was the two Robins episode with Dick and Jason and for season 2 the Superboy episode, which are character focused episodes. I think that's been the consistent thing with the show great characters stuck in a not so great show.

These thoughts have remained over Titans first 3 seasons. I still feel the show hasn't worked for me as a whole , it has some good episodes here and there but overall non of the three seasons have been great from start to finish.

Donna's death is something I found completely ridiculously executed. With resurrecting her the next season it's also rendered pointless. Rose kind of just disappeared , Jason becoming the red hood was ineffective because he died and literally cam back in a few episodes (he should have been gone for at least a season or 2) e.t.c...

Beast boy can totally be green all the time if they paint the actor. Gar having issues with not looking normal and essentially having some difficulty fitting in like the rest of the team in a part of his character arc.

The writers of the show also don't seem to want to actually actively fix the show instead they add more and more new characters each season without fixing or developing the ones they have already. Each season of the show feels a bit disconnected as it comes across as if the writers are making up new storylines as they go (How can we keep people watching vs actually telling great stories) , the show doesn't seem to have a solid series bible.

I love the cast of the show and some of the characters and wish they were in a better show.

I've wondered if the show has budget issues because Stargirl, Doom Patrol and Swamp Thing look typically more expensive than Titans. The team battle sequences on Stargirl in particular are actually better than the team fight scenes on Titans. Dick generally gets the best fights on Titans.

I do care about the show which is why I'm still watching but I'm also frustrated by its wasted potential.
